Word and study lists
Rather than throw you into the world of professional Scrabble unarmed, the Kanawha Valley Scrabble Club is pleased to provide you with lists of words for your perusal. Put these words in your arsenal and you are guaranteed to make some killer plays.

The basics

- Everyone knows cat, dog, and, and the are 3-letter words, so here's a list which separates the uncommon 3-letter words.

Good to know
- 4-letter words using J, Q, X, or Z.
- Here is a list which separates the uncommon 4-letter words.
- A list which capitalizes on prior knowledge of the 2s: the 2-to-make-4 list.
- Another way to approach the 4-letter words. In this list, they are separated into three groups: high-probability hooks, low-probability hooks, and non-hooks.
- 5-letter words which begin or end with a high-scoring letter, also known as the high-fives list. Look carefully at a Scrabble board to see why this is an important list.
